Located on the seaside coastline of Yoff Virage in Dakar, Black Rock House is a private residence and multidisciplinary artist residency commissioned by artist Kehinde Wiley. Set against the Atlantic Ocean and the black volcanic rocks that give the project its name, the house was conceived as a place of retreat, creation, and exchange.
The project brings together private living spaces, artist studios, guest residences, and landscaped outdoor areas within a calm architectural composition shaped by light, materiality, and the presence of the sea. Its restrained architecture allows the surrounding coastline, ocean views, and tropical landscape to remain at the center of the experience.
